Occasionally when I’m running a Google search for something related to our brand, I’ll see a result pop up titled “Find a DivvyHQ Alternative.” Unlike other automatically generated product review pages from sites like G2 Crowd and GetApp, this one was intentionally and strategically created by our competitors at CoSchedule, with a very clear marketing objective.
Now, let me first say that — while I don’t particularly care for this approach — I get it. They’re trying to catch content marketing managers who are comparison-shopping, and want to point those people toward their own solution.
The problem is that the information on CoSchedule’s page is almost laughably inaccurate. It features a grid that suggests DivvyHQ lacks functionality for social media publishing and blog publishing. Our platform includes dedicated support for both. Their breakdown also states the following: “CoSchedule is a DivvyHQ alternative that offers a key feature that DivvyHQ does not have: direct connection to your WordPress blog.” That’s really strange, since I’ll soon be publishing this post directly through our WordPress blog via the DivvyHQ integration!
Let’s Be Honest
We’ll give CoSchedule the benefit of the doubt and assume they pieced that web page together long ago, before DivvyHQ was built up into the feature-rich platform it is now. But, our solution has had all these capabilities for quite a while, so that doesn’t really excuse the presence of such outdated and misleading information on a living digital resource they own, does it? If customers can’t trust CoSchedule to be truthful about their competitors, how can anyone be confident in the way they market themselves?
Aside from presenting that question openly, I’m not here to bash anyone. I am here to set the record straight. We don’t begrudge any customers who are running searches for “DivvyHQ alternatives” and fully exploring their options. In fact, we encourage it! Choosing a content marketing platform is an important decision, deserving of careful consideration.

Your team needs help in areas that aren’t directly related to content planning, creation and management.

However, the term “content marketing platform” covers a wide range of different product types.
Maybe you just need a really solid analytics tool. Our Enterprise Plan offers a great one, but we wouldn’t necessarily recommend it if your team isn’t suited to benefit from Divvy’s many other features. In that case, something like Moz, Kissmetrics or (of course) Google Analytics might make more sense.
Or maybe you’re really just looking for help with social media campaigns management and measurement. Again, we have basic social publishing features built into our app, but if robust social media management capabilities are needed, a dedicated solution such as HootSuite or BuzzSumo or Sprout Social would probably fit your needs better.
Finally, if you’re looking for a project management solution, DivvyHQ could be just the ticket — it’s basically designed as a content-centric PM platform — but maybe not. You don’t have any budget.
This is a simple reality that many teams and businesses face. - Are you locked in to long-term contracts with no escape?
One word of caution: be careful what you read, and be sure to verify claims made by companies that don’t always make a habit of putting honesty and transparency first.
As for CoSchedule and their “DivvyHQ alternatives” page? C for effort. We’ll give ‘em this much: they pulled it off better than Contentools, another company that shows up in search results for the term and delivers… ah… this:
