My Favorite Content Marketing Video: Gini Dietrich

 In Content Marketing

Hello and welcome to another edition of My Favorite Content Marketing Video! This week’s video is a great example of a type of video content that is almost impossible to plan in advance, but can be very effective when captured and executed the right way. Stumped?

Outtakes!

My earliest recollection of outtakes was in Pixar’s A Bug’s Life (1998) where Pixar actually animated a hilarious blooper reel that ran during the credits. Today, outtakes and blooper reels are a regular occurrence on YouTube and in the “special features” of movies and TV shows, but many brands have found uses for them as well. Here’s a fun one submitted by our good friend Gini Dietrich, Founder and CEO at Spin Sucks, that has had a huge impact for a little eatery called Dysart’s Restaurant in Bangor, Maine.

Gini Dietrich’s Favorite Content Marketing Video

“I love this video because it’s hilarious, but also because it’s a brilliant use of footage from a commercial shoot that would normally be deleted and never seen. And, because it was so well done, everyone clicks at the end to see the actual commercial. Freaking brilliant!”

At the end of each post, we’ll provide a recap list of all videos in the series.

A new favorite video post will be published every Friday until we run out of video submissions. If you’re reading this and have a favorite video that we should consider for the series, please submit it via our contact form and tell us why it was so valuable to you.
