My Favorite Content Marketing Video: Cathy McPhillips
Let me kick off this week’s “My Favorite Content Marketing Video” post by saying that I hope the videos we’ve shared thus far have provided some form of value, either by inspiring, teaching or showing you some of the best examples of content marketing in action. Thanks to all of you who have subscribed to the series!
This week’s submission from Cathy McPhillips, VP of Marketing at the Content Marketing Institute, is part interview, part keynote, part life lesson by one of the most creative minds of our time, John Cleese. John spoke at the 2015 Content Marketing World conference and his words hit close to home for many of us in the audience, especially Cathy.
“For so long my life was my work, and my work was my life and my brain basically shut off. In hindsight, it was really limiting my creativity. John’s message reminded me that I need to take time to recharge, think, meditate, and get past rote tasks and writing – things that should NEVER have become rote. And the funny thing? My ideas are now more creative, I feel better, and I’m actually more efficient with my time.”
